Fall Skincare Hacks With St. Ives

It’s no secret around here that I’m head over heels in love with fall. October flew by, and I’ll definitely be running around like a mad woman trying to cross everything off my fall bucket list in the next few weeks. All the while I’m starting to get geared up for the holidays. I know, it seems way too early. But, with my wonky schedule, planning ahead of time is the only thing that keeps me sane.

As much as I love fall, one of my biggest grudges against this time of the year is the toll the colder weather starts to take on my skin. As soon as my skin stops overproducing oils for the summer (ew, I know), it’s like I’m sucked dry. How has my body expended all of its moisture in just a few summery months?

I don’t freaking know.

Needless to say, I was a little grumpy about it…but then in walks the new St. Ives pear nectar and soy skincare line.

I swear it was a godsend. Not to mention, I’ve actually been a fan of St. Ives since I was little. I always used to see my grandpa using it, so naturally I wanted to try it too. Kind of unrelated, but my mom also used to keep a pear scented perfume in one of our bathrooms at home when I was young, and I love that this new line connects and reminds me of both of these fond memories from childhood.

Another thing I love about this line is that it’s made from 100% natural moisturizers (including pear extract and soy, duh), which means that it’s a great option for sensitive skin. I’ve had a few really uncomfortable experiences with other skincare brands that use a lot of artificial, unnatural ingredients and have even gotten major rashes on my hands from these cases! Not fun.

The lotion is also super lightweight, which I love. Ain’t nobody got time to wait around all day for a heavy lotion to soak in. I hate heavy moisturizers, because I always feel like my clothes are sticking to me if I put them on over the area I moisturized. No thank you!

In other news, I’ve been experimenting with a few new skincare hacks, so I of course have to share them with you guys! Here’s a few steps I’ve implemented into my daily routine this fall:

1. Dry Brushing

I cannot say enough about the amazing powers of dry brushing. It gets rid of all of the dead and unhealthy skin, stimulates the lymphatic system (aka a vital part of the immune system), increases circulation and can even help nix cellulite (love this little tidbit). Thinking about doing a whole post/tutorial on dry brushing because I love it so much and have seen such improvements in my skin within the past month of doing it!

2. Moisturizing

Just because ultra dry winter skin syndrome hasn’t hit just yet doesn’t mean your skin isn’t in need of a little moisture. I’ve been using my new St. Ives body lotion, and it’s been working wonders on my skin. I like to apply it after showering so that my pores are open and my skin can absorb everything!

3. Detoxing

Though I’ve been moisturizing and dry brushing like crazy, I’ve noticed that I’ve been leaving one area of my bod unattended: my scalp. It’s so easy to forget that this area needs attention too, and I’ve been making a conscious effort to do a product detox every week. I invested in a new anti-residue shamp to detox my locks once a week, and I’ve seen a huge difference in the overall health of my hair. Will also go more into detail on this another time if you guys are interested!

Hope you all have an amazing week! I have a few more fun collabs in the works, so keep checking in 🙂 Also let me know what your fall skincare tips are — I’m all ears!

xx,
