The 5 Easiest Ninja Blender Recipes You Need to Know About

A few months ago I finally decided to jump on the bandwagon and give the whole green smoothie thing a go.

It.

Was.

Horrible.

If you’d blindfolded me and told me I was drinking liquid dirt I would’ve believed you.

And know this: I am not a picky eater. My parents’ philosophy was always that the kids ate what the adults ate…or they didn’t eat at all. Thank god for that mantra or I might’ve missed out on a lot of my now favorites that seemed so sicko at first (spinach I’m lookin’ at you). So, even though I’m pretty open to new foods, I really struck out with the green smoothie on the first try.

This was SO disappointing. How could something so trendy go so wrong? Haha okay, so a lot of trends have gone ridiculously bad (Kylie Jenner lip challenge), but come on. Even though my first green smoothie tasted like absolute shit, I had a feeling I could still unlock the benefits while avoiding the nastiness.

After a little experimentation, I finally found the perfect combo to share with ya’ll. It’s fruity thanks to super fruits like raspberries, golden berries and mulberries, but still packs all the nutritious punch of an exclusively green green smoothie.

Oh, and before we get to the ingredients let’s talk about the difference between green smoothies and green juices. It’s important!

Though I’m a fan of cold pressed juices, one of my biggest qualms about juicing is that some of the fiber from the fruits and veggies are lost with the skin. Not cool. If I’m replacing my iced chai (skinny girl style here) with greens, it’s got to have all the nutrients. So, green smoothies are just a bit above juices in my book.

INGREDIENTS:

♥ 1/2 apple

♥ 1 large handful spinach

♥ 1 handful raspberries

♥ 1/2 cup cashew milk

♥ 1 small handful mulberries

♥ 1 small handful golden berries

♥ 1 tbsp. chia seeds

Now I’m off to watch more Real Housewives of Orange County and pig out on the leftover raspberries in my fridge. What a killer Saturday night, right?

xx,
