The Riu Mexico was spot on with their decor. There were so many gorgeous fountains! Dessert bars can prove dangerous to any healthy diet. First you’re only trying one pastry, but it quickly turns into a full plate of sweet treats. Go to the bar with the intentions of coming back with a full plate…to share with the entire table. Try to only taste test each sweet! Though I didn’t try any water sports this vacay, jet skiing is one of my favorite beach activities. It entertains for hours! My favorite and most frequented spot at the Riu…the amazing fresh fruit bar.
Situated in the middle of a gated community of luxury resorts and townhouses lies the five star Riu Mexico. Though I visited the Riu almost five years ago, it’s gone through some pretty extensive changes. Since my stay, they’ve revamped and renovated the entire resort. When I arrived again last week, I barely recognized the place. However, as soon as I saw the luxe purple interior and bustling cappuccino bar, I knew I was hooked.
My vacation style is all about relaxation, so I could mostly be found lying poolside, possibly sipping a pina colada. I took advantage of all the fresh fruit at the resort and piled my plate high with melons and pineapple. I also have a newfound appreciation for chocolate fountains. You could say I had a few too many chocolate covered strawberries. It’s fruit, so it’s healthy right?
Regardless of my indulgences, I found myself in the gym. Sometimes, I even frequented the facility twice a day. Let me tell you, vacation can make or break your workout routine. Try a new machine during your down time and you might just find yourself newly motivated once you get home.
After a much needed hiatus, I’m thrilled to be back and am working on a few secret (for now) and exciting projects to share with you all. Before I took off to Mexico, I also mentioned a surprise. While there are several in store, I’ll let you in on one. I’m officially an intern at CollegeFashionista. You can check out my profile here for exclusive street style articles featuring a variety of people I meet around town. There’s also an awesome guest post in the works, which will be shared in a few days. Stay tuned!
