5 Reasons You Need LISS Cardio in Your Life

After traveling for three out of the five weekends in July, I’m finally home. Can I get a hallelujah? Can I get an amen? Not only does it feel damn good to just sleep in my own bed for a change buuuuuut, between convention life, birthday wine tours, and just stepping foot in NYC, my health & fitness routine has seriously gone to crap. I’m a strong believer that health is our greatest wealth, so I’ve been just a bit stressed out at my lack of activity and access to #cleaneats lately. Now that I actually have some time to focus on myself though, I’ve been going HAM on Kayla Itsine’s Bikini Body Guide. And so far? I. am. loving. it. 28 minute workouts? Hell to the yes, girlfraaand 😍 One of the things that I love about doing programs like this is that they teach me more about fitness and…

Cheat Meals: Should You Have Them?

As evidenced by this post, I’ve been on a mission to get fit recently. A few weeks ago, I even bought and started using the Kayla Itsine’s Bikini Body Guide as my go-to for daily workouts, and my next step will be to shape up and refine my diet to be even cleaner. I’m looking forward to getting on the right track and sharing more healthy lifestyle tips and behind the scenes progress on this platform. It’s a topic I wrote about a lot more when I first started blogging, so I’m passionate about getting back to these roots, especially since I’ve noticed that health and wellness are topics that a lot of people seem to be interested in and enjoy talking about. To start it all off though, I want to tackle a term that I think we’ve all heard, and probably used ourselves (many times). Cheat meals. There’s…

5 Healthy Snacks That are Perfect for the Airport

Am I the only one who finds it unbearably difficult to eat healthy while traveling? There’s just so many temptations, and there’s often not much time between flights to really weigh out all of the options. That being said, it’s still super important to me to eat well while en route. After all, there’s nothing that makes me quite as grumpy as running around all day totally un-fueled and sluggish from a lack of real food. Sounds gross, right?…

Are You an Abstainer or a Moderator? Why You Need to Know Today

If you’ve read this post where I list 5 podcasts you need in your life, you know that I love Gretchen Rubin’s show Happier. For those of you don’t know, Gretchen is a happiness expert, and she’s most widely recognized for her #1 New York Times Best Seller, The Happiness Project. In the book, Gretchen details her research on what exactly makes people happy and she recounts her year “trying to sing in the morning, clean [her] closets, fight right, read Aristotle, and generally have more fun.”…

5 game-changing Tips for Surviving Finals Week in College

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #RestAndRenew #CollectiveBias It’s no secret that the holidays (and Black Friday!) are swiftly approaching, but there’s also one other memorable (and dreadful) event that college girls around the world can’t stop thinking about during this time of the year: finals week. The end of each semester is always a whirlwind for me. The workload for my major ebbs and flows, but there’s almost always what seems like a zillion group projects due during finals week, plus a few more pesky exams. I’ve tried pretty much every method out there for managing stress, including hiding out in my bedroom binge watching full seasons of Supernatural for three days straight last year. I literally only came out of my room to get the door when my food deliveries showed up. It was bad. That being said,…

The Best Nighttime Drink for a Good Night’s Sleep

As the weather starts to cool down, I’ve found that it gets increasingly difficult to get out of bed in the morning. After all, who wants to leave their warm fuzzy blankets on a brisk AF fall morning, let alone a gosh darn blizzard when winter hits in NY? No one. Not to mention, my nighttime habits can be pretty reckless. I’m the queen of staying up late to squeeze in one more episode of Vampire Diaries (those cliffhangers are pure torture), and I’m constantly checking my phone before I doze off just in case I’ve missed anything on social. It’s awful. So, after a literal lifetime of feeling like I never get enough (quality) sleep, I’m finally trying to nail down a nighttime routine. Though I’m not quite ready to sacrifice my late-night Netflix binges, I’ve implemented one easy step into my evening agenda. That one little thing is… Turmeric…

How To Have The Perfect At-Home Spa Day

Wow, I can’t remember the last time I’ve taken such a long hiatus from blogging! I hate that I’ve been absent for the past few weeks, but I have been sick as a dog. I’m talking the full nine yards. Fever, sore throat, cough, you name it.  YUCK.  However, being essentially couchridden for the past week has had at least one positive affect, since it’s the inspiration behind today’s post. Now that my immune system is finally starting to kick some a$$, I’m definitely in need of a spa day this weekend as a treat for such a rough time while I’ve been sick. Though feeling like CRAP is a perfect excuse for a little “me time”, we all need to love ourselves a little more often. Am I right?  I don’t know about you guys, but I’m constantly go, go, go. That’s why being so sick was so sucky.…
