While the events over the past year have affected each and every one of us a little differently, almost all of us have had to adapt in some way.
Personally, my routines have changed drastically since the pandemic started.
My husband and I are outgoing people, who under normal circumstances love to travel, dine out at restaurants, and try new things.
While it makes me sad to miss out on some of our favorite activities, we’ve been doing our best to stay home and keep ourselves (and our loved ones) safe.
Both my family and my husband’s have members that are immunocompromised, so safety has been our number one priority since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
That’s something that isn’t changing this season, though we of course do our best to stay optimistic about the future.
Part of staying positive for us has included coming up with new activities we can enjoy at home as a couple, instead of going out.
This has helped us to not just pass the time, but also to still enjoy our lives, even while having to adapt to some new, unprecedented circumstances.
One of our favorite fun things for couples to do at home lately has been having a simple game night.
We make things special by buying our favorite snacks, turning on some music, and just enjoying time off of our phones together.
While we have fun playing simple games like checkers, we have also found a number of newer board games as well that we have had some really great laughs with.
I look forward to keeping up with this even when it becomes safe for us to start doing some of our regular activities outside of our home again.

I’m also sharing a list of 75 fun things for couples to do at home below as well.
Many of these fun things for couples to do at home can also easily incorporate children or other family members who live in your household, and they are ideal ways to stay safe this season by staying home (but still having fun).
Between the amazing options from Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, and the following ideas, I don’t think you will be bored staying at home for a long, long time!
Excellus BlueCross BlueShield also has a 24/7 Nurse Hotline available as well, for any questions you may have related to self-care or mental health.
While it’s incredibly important to stay informed regarding the virus, testing, and vaccines, it’s just as important to make sure you’re taking care of your mental health as well.
