3 Easy Ways to Stay Healthy at Home

Thank you to Babbleboxx.com for sponsoring today’s post on 3 easy ways to stay healthy at home. As always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

Since I’ve been spending a significant amount of time at home lately, I’ve been trying to put more of an emphasis on creating a healthy routine this spring.

While I’ve never been someone who wants to hit the gym every day, I do enjoy being active and spending time outdoors.

So far, I’m excited about some of the small changes I’ve implemented in my health and wellness routine that I can already tell are going to make a big difference.

I’m also embracing spending more time at home, and realizing that not every part of my healthy routine needs to involve a lot of planning or even going someplace.

If you’re looking to implement some new healthy habits right from the comfort of your own home as well, check out some of the things that have been working well for me:

1. Eating Simple, Nutritious Meals (+ Meal Planning)

One of the biggest things I’ve been doing to stay healthy at home lately is giving up the idea that every meal needs to be an elaborate recipe that takes hours in the kitchen to make.

Instead, I’ve been whipping up simple and nutritious meals using tools such as my pressure cooker to reduce the amount of time I have to spend cooking.

Despite simplifying our menu, I have also been trying to plan ahead with our meals.

This has been incredibly helpful because it’s reduced the amount of takeout food we eat immensely.

While we still enjoy ordering from our favorite restaurants from time to time, we’ve been staying in and cooking healthier alternatives a lot more often since we’ve started thinking ahead.

I recently discovered Healthy Choice Power Dressings, which have also helped to add a delicious and rich flavor to many of our healthy dinners.

Besides of course the taste, what I really love about these salad dressings is that they are under 45 calories per serving.

I love having a veggie packed salad every day but truly can’t enjoy it without salad dressing, so this has been a perfect fit for both me and my husband.

Another thing I have been doing in addition to eating cleaner meals is adding in a few supplements to my diet.

I’ve heard about the positive properties of apple cider vinegar in the past, so I was thrilled to learn that Nature’s Truth makes Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies.

Many people do not know that I cannot swallow pills, so finding any supplement in gummy form truly is a blessing!

I also love that these gummies have a delicious apple flavor (no vinegar aftertaste,), and they are gluten free, non-GMO, and vegan.

The other supplement I have been taking besides my Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies has been Pink Products Simply Collagen.

I really love that this unflavored powder comes in on-the-go packages that are easy to mix into hot and cold beverages alike.

Whether I’m blending it into my smoothie or mixing it into my morning cup of coffee, I love having a collagen powder that’s easy to use and effective.

2. Practicing Self Care

Another thing that’s been important to me since I’ve been spending more time at home is actually making time for a self care routine.

I was inspired to revamp my self care routine recently after diving into the book Ignite Your Light, by Jolene Hart.

I loved Jolene’s earlier book Eat Pretty, so I knew I had to get my hands on a copy of her latest release.

What I didn’t know though was just how many inspiring recipes and wellness tips I’d stumble upon in this read. It’s definitely been a good book for staying positive and finding more time for myself lately.

Other parts of my self care routine besides making more time to read have included taking time to relax and also investing in my skincare routine.

While it may not necessarily scream self care, I do truly have a passion for skincare and find going through that daily routine to be incredibly relaxing.

I’ve been trying several new products over the past month, but one of my favorites that has made its way into my daily skincare routine is Vichy Liftactiv Peptide-C Sunscreen with SPF 30.

I’m very big on wearing SPF and protecting my skin from the sun, but I absolutely hate the greasy feeling of sunscreen.

That’s why I was so excited to find this daily moisturizer with SPF, because it doesn’t leave a nasty residue whether you wear it as a standalone or throw it on before your makeup.

I also love that the formula includes one of my all-time favorite skincare ingredients — Vitamin C!

Overall, you really can’t go wrong with taking care of yourself.

It’s one of the best things you can do when you’re feeling stressed, and I’ve found implementing a strong self care routine to be very impactful in helping me to stay on track this spring and meet my other goals related to my health.

It’s much easier to stay focused and be productive when you’re taking the time out of your day that you need to just be by yourself and recharge.

3. Finding Unique Ways to Stay Active

The last thing I have been doing on my quest to stay healthy at home has of course been finding unique ways to stay active.

Surprisingly, I’ve been really enjoying doing some at-home workout videos and tracking my fitness thanks my new Suunto 7 smartwatch.

I’ve never used a smartwatch before, but I’m loving having the ability to track my activities, my heart rate, and the calories I’m burning while I’m working out.

I’ve used my Suunto 7 smartwatch so far to track my pilates, yoga, walking, and running workouts.

So far I am totally impressed, I honestly do think the capability to track everything on my wrist has inspired me to be more active.

It’s nice seeing the graph of my weekly workouts right there, and I am also obsessed with the chic look of the watch. It fits right in with my workwear attire during the day, but has all the capabilities of a real sports watch for when I’m working out.

Also, the watch face is much bigger than other smartwatches I’ve seen which is a huge bonus…so easy to read and keep track of things on such a big screen!

During my at-home workouts, I’ve also been using my Solar Red Aeropex from AfterShokz headphones to listen to my favorite music.

I really like these headphones specifically because they are lightweight and waterproof.

They also work via bone conduction, so there’s nothing inside or over your ears which is really neat.

My husband was so jealous when I first got these, as he has been wanting a pair for months!

While I use my Aeropex headphones for working out, he works in construction so they would also be perfect for him since they would allow him to listen to music at work while still being aware of his surroundings.

There are so many situations you can use this innovative product, which is part of what makes it so great.

The last thing that has been helping me to stay fit at home in addition to my new technology is also my favorite workout gear.

For example, I finally got my hands on some new compression crew socks from No nonsense as well as some new no-show compression socks.

Being comfortable when you’re working out is everything, so this has been a big factor in helping me keep up my routine while at home.

One of the things that I love about No nonsense is that the products are made in the USA and also have arch support. This obviously makes them the ideal socks for working out.

If you’d like to give them a try too, you can pick them up at your local Rite Aid!

So, how are you staying healthy at home?

I’ve been trying to enjoy my time lately and really just focus on my wellbeing, both physically and mentally.

I think it’s done wonders for my spring routine so far, and I’m excited to see where things go!
