We’re prepping for an even bigger year in 2019 though, hitting up some of the destinations that have been at the top of my ultimate travel bucket list for years. My 2019 Travel Bucket List

1. Germany

R. and I finally tying the knot this fall, and I’m using it as the perfect excuse to head back to Europe. I’ve only been there once for a school trip during the 10th grade, so I’m really looking forward to going back on my own terms and without being on a completely guided tour.

Germany has been at the top of my list ever since I can remember, mainly due to my dominant German heritage. I also took German in school for six years, so it’ll be interesting to get go somewhere that I’ve studied for so long.

Also: CHRISTMAS MARKETS.

2. Switzerland

Switzerland hasn’t always been at the top of my travel bucket list, but it’s somehow managed to make it to this year’s itinerary. I’ve heard some great things about Lucerne, so I’m looking forward to exploring this country while we’re in Europe for our honeymoon.

3. Italy

What would a trip to Europe be without a quick tour of Italy? Though I’ve already been, I have to admit I’ve been dying to go back ever since. It’ll be such a different experience getting to be there with Rich!

4. Canada

Canada is practically our next door neighbor here in New York. I really want to take advantage of where I live this year and do a few road trips North, namely to cities like Toronto and Quebec.

I’ve heard that Quebec is incredibly magical during the holidays, so I definitely want to make sure I get there at some point during 2019. Toronto is also extremely close to where I live, and I haven’t been since I was a child. I somehow always forget how easy it is to travel to an entirely different country by living in New York, and I’d like to prioritize this in the new year.

5. Nashville, TN

I’ve heard some wonderful things about Nashville, and I’ve also been wanting to go to Graceland (just a couple hours away) for years. Flights have been relatively cheap here lately, so I’m hoping to add this city + Memphis to my 2019 itinerary soon.

6. Lake George, NY

Lake George used to be a favorite vacation spot for our family when I was young, and I’m looking forward to making some new memories in this Adirondack town in 2019. Since we’re planning a trip to Europe this year, I’m trying to think of more places that we can do long weekends at rather than full blown vacations.

I’m a pretty savvy when it comes to travel, so I’m excited to think of more places nearby that we can explore together this year without having to spend a lot of money.

With just six destinations on this list, it feels incomplete. That being said, I didn’t list out the specific (and many) cities in Europe we’ll be visiting, since we’re still working on planning that trip! We’ll likely be adding more U.S. based travel in as well, but a lot of that ends up being more spontaneously booked.

I can’t wait to see where our 2019 travels will take us!

Do you have any travel plans for 2019 yet? I’d love to hear!

P.S. Don’t forget to grab the 2019 Travel Bucket List template I made up above! I swear writing it all down does wonders for actually making something happen 🙈
