We’ve all experienced the effects of the Winter weather, which has the ability to completely dry out our typically luscious and moisturized skin. While exfoliation and moisturization is a no-brainer for beauty gurus, it’s alarming how many of us aren’t caring for our skin properly during the coldest months of the year. What most women don’t know is that getting great winter skin comes down to two simple steps. First, in a steamy shower, exfoliate with a great body scrub. I’ve found that one of my best investments has been my exfoliating gloves (which were only like $5). I put on these gloves and go about my routine as I normally would, swapping out body wash for exfoliating scrub, and always get a super polished and soft finish. You can also exfoliate your face at this time. However, I only use exfoliating scrubs on my face 2-3 times a week to reduce redness that can result from…

Since we do a lot of entertaining, having a well decorated and festive home is very important to our family. We take pride not only in our beautiful Christmas trees, but also in our mantle decor. Enduring the frigidity of New York winters, we use our fireplace often during the holiday season. For this reason, we love to dress it up to match the rest of our festive home. Here are a few items you might consider purchasing (although you probably own several already!) in decorating your mantle for the holidays: 1. Fake Branches/Plants – Okay, I’m a little weary to mention this one because fake plants/flowers/branches tend to be a hit or miss. Set out to find natural looking branches though like the ones pictured above and it’s sure to add class to your mantle. I also love these faux poinsettias, which easily trick the eye. 2. Gorgeous Ornaments – Every mantle can use a little sparkle,…

The holiday season is always a blast at my house. Whether we’re jamming out to “Jingle Bell Rock”, watching our favorite Christmas movies (The Polar Express all the way!), or enjoying a cup of mint hot chocolate, we’re content because we’re making time for each other during the busiest  time of the year. Perhaps this is one reason why tree decorating seems so special. That, and it only comes around once every 365 days. This season, my mother came home with unexpected decor for the tree. I was astonished at the huge moose head she bought that simply gets wedged in between branches when it comes time to decorate. Though I was unsure at first, it looks stellar and is sure to be a conversation piece when we have guests over for the holiday. I was also thrilled when I found a set of three golden bird nest decorations at the store. I simply could…

Etsy is a great resource for locating unique, many times handmade gifts. However, it does take some time to pick through all of the options. Hence the creation of this weeks gift guide, which features my top Etsy picks this holiday season. Enjoy! 1. Travel Journals – If you haven’t noticed, travel journals are a common theme throughout my gift guides. While I’m usually happy to see green grounds and clear skies, I’m a little disappointed with the lack of snow in New York this December. Maybe I’ll put a spoon under my pillow tonight like I used to, in an attempt to magically forge a snow day overnight. Despite the lack of snow, I’m definitely not lacking in holiday festivity. I’ve been browsing the latest seasonal recipes on the web to curate a list of my top five, and am thrilled with the creatively delicious options. Here are a few of my must tries: 1. Gingerdoodles 2. Salted Cranberry, Pistachio and Pecan Chocolate Bark 3. Eggnog French Toast 4. Gingerbread Biscotti 5. Bacon Almond Brittle Enjoy! What’s your favorite holiday recipe?

1. Anthropologie Golden Monogram Mug – I think these chic golden mugs are on everyone’s holiday wish list this year. 2. ‘Maison Blanc – Pink Citron’ 2-Wick Candle – I’ll admit, I can go a little overboard with my candles. However, they’re relatively inexpensive to give and super cute to receive. They also make a great addition to a holiday gift basket. 3. Sugar Lip Treatment Ornament – I just can’t get enough of Sugar products, especially the lip balm. Cold weather equals dry, chapped lips, and the recipient of this Sugar lip treatment ornament will surely thank you. 4. ‘Vintage Blossoms’ Notebooks – Know a blogger or writer? She’ll love these floral notebooks to record her thoughts. 5. It’s About to get Nostalgic up in Here Photo Album – Photographer or not, this photo album is a hilarious, memorable gift. Consider pairing it with a polaroid camera if you’re looking for an additional piece. 6. Lauren Ralph Lauren Ball Stud Earrings – A…

Now that the Thanksgiving leftovers are officially devoured, I am so ready for the holiday season! Egg nog and Christmas cookies are, until Dec. 26, forever on my mind. This year, I’m going to attempt to not only be more festive than ever, but also test some new recipes and party tricks. This includes festive foods and drinks, which can not only be delicious to consume, but fun to prepare! Who knows though, maybe that’s just my serial DIY persona coming out. Regardless of how great or little pleasure you take in prepping for holiday parties and family gatherings, this refreshment is so chic, yet easy to make. Also, keep in mind that this is a skinny beverage, containing much less calories than a holiday cocktail. Here’s what you need:  Measurements (1 serving):  1 1/3 cups cranberry juice 2/3 cup perrier lime sparkling water 1/4 pear 1 lime slice Directions:  1) Cut 1/4…
