VIDEO: Fall 2017 FabFitFun Unboxing

Fall 2017 FabFitFun Unboxing Okay guys…I caved. I’ve been seeing ads for the FabFitFun box pretty much everywhere for the past few months, and I finally purchased my own subscription after I saw that even JESSE MCCARTNEY was promoting it. That really was the final straw. I mean, how do you say no to Jesse Mccartney? 😂 I’m glad I didn’t, too. This box was jam packed with over $350 worth of goodies! Some of my favorite items were the Mer-Sea scarf and the Trestique Lip Crayon, which totally got me in the mood for fall. There were lots more beauty and fashion products packed in there (many of which I wouldn’t have bought on my own due to price), and I thought that it was a great value for only paying $49.99 in total for the box. I’d definitely recommend! Be sure to check out the full Fall 2017 FabFitFun Unboxing video…

5 Unexpected Things I Learned in Three Years of Blogging

Three years ago, my life changed forever. After months and months of late nights spent devouring the pages of fashion & lifestyle sites like The Blonde Salad, Gal Meets Glam, Pink Peonies, and more…I bought the domain theblondechiffon.com and I published my first ever blog post. I still remember dragging my boyfriend Rich to the local college campus in search of those picture perfect brick walls like it was yesterday. I also remember how frustrated I got when my photos weren’t on par with some of the most famous fashion bloggers’ in the industry (I was shooting on automatic and had no idea how to use my DSLR — I just had a vision & a hella lot of ambition 🤣). There were times when I thought I’d give up. There were times when I tried to give up (thank you R. for convincing me otherwise). Three years later however, I’m still at it.…

30 Blog Post Ideas to Get You in the Mood for Fall

Can I tell you a secret? I’ve been dealing with a major case of writer’s block. And I’m not talking about the writer’s block that lasts for a few days, or even *cringe* a few weeks. Nope, I’ve felt stuck pretty much since I graduated in May. I enjoyed a creative boost in July when I got to get out of town for three weekends in a row (travel IS the cure to everything, right?)…buuuuuuut, this whole work/life balance struggle has really thrown my blogging schedule out of whack. That’s why I was super excited after editing some of the photos R. and I took last weekend. Not only was I in LOVE with some of the shots we got, but I finally felt like my inspiration was coming back. In addition to snapping some pretty outfit pics though, I do have to give a bit of credit to the…

6 Books to Add to Your Fall Reading List

As a kid, my days and nights often revolved around the latest book I was reading. Even now, I still remember my parents nagging me to put down the Harry Potter books at family functions and interact with my relatives (which was, of course, a waste of my parents’ time 😌). In my teenage years however, the stories that used to preoccupy my entire days as a child suddenly seemed unimportant. Cause let’s face it, when you’re 16 & stupid, ain’t nobody got time for that. Recently though, I’ve reacquainted myself with the old hobby, and I dare say I’m an addict yet again. I’ve whipped through lotsa books over the past few months, so I wanted to be sure to roundup some of my favorites in hopes of inspiring your fall reading list. Perhaps I’ll make this a quarterly, seasonal series? Either way, fall is THE perfect time to pick…

How to Make Easy DIY Pumpkin Spice Soy Candles

It’s been quite some time since I’ve posted a DIY project, but being on the brink of the fall season somehow has me feeling re-inspired. Since I hadn’t done one of my seasonal candle runs to TJ Maxx or Bath & Body Works yet, I thought it’d be fun to venture out of my comfort zone a bit and try making a few of my own. After all, I must say that hanging out in bed with a nice candle going & a good book in hand is one of my favorite fall activities. It’s so cozy! My favorite candle of all time (a limited edition, apple cider scent from Yankee Candle) is also almost burnt to the bottom after enjoying it for the past few seasons, so this festive project was totally appropriate, even despite some of the turmoil it caused (…like spilling hot wax all over my kitchen floor…).…

5 Reasons You Need to Visit Newport, Rhode Island

If you’d have asked me a month ago what my thoughts were on Newport, RI, the answer would’ve been less than enthusiastic. I’d only ever heard of Rhode Island in reference to one of my uncles who used to live there long before my time…wait, actually that was Long Island…so scratch that, I’d never really heard much of Rhode Island at all… Little did I know however, the Newport area is full of charm! Its historic downtown and stately mansions obviously suit my taste just fine, not to mention the abundance of seafood shacks and beautiful beaches just about every which way you look. I ended up on a four day mini-trip to RI thanks to Richard’s family who were heading down for his brother’s navy graduation, but it turned out to be one of my favorite little places I’ve found in awhile. All in all, I want to go…
