Truth be told, I have been in QUITE the clean eating rut as of late. I’m a true believer in living a balanced lifestyle, so falling off the healthy meal prep wagon starts to throw my entire routine out of whack after awhile. I think that it’s hard to maintain your hustle and succeed when certain things in your life are out of balance. I try to place just as much importance on my physical and mental health as I do on my work, and in the spirit of getting back into my healthy routines, I recently did a pretty big grocery haul at Aldi’s. If you don’t have an Aldi near you…I’m so sorry. And I’m not sorry because this post isn’t relevant to you; I’m sorry because you’re missing out. We’ve had Aldi grocery stores in our area since I was a kid, but it wasn’t until college…
One of the first things I prioritized when I started to focus on my health more was staying hydrated. There’s so many of us who don’t drink nearly enough water! Not to mention, I’ve been known to get major headaches and dizziness if I haven’t hydrated properly. Even though I’m more conscious nowadays about drinking enough water, I’m still always seeking new ways to incentivize myself to get enough of it (see this post on 15 Non-Boring Ways to Drink More Water). Not only does this make me feel healthier, but it also nips those soda cravings right in the bud. In addition to creating all sorts of fruit-infused water recipes to keep my water intake up, I’ve also started taking advantage of the FIJI Water home delivery service. I’ve always loved FIJI Water, which actually does come from the islands of Fiji. I still remember in elementary school how…
After traveling for three out of the five weekends in July, I’m finally home. Can I get a hallelujah? Can I get an amen? Not only does it feel damn good to just sleep in my own bed for a change buuuuuut, between convention life, birthday wine tours, and just stepping foot in NYC, my health & fitness routine has seriously gone to crap. I’m a strong believer that health is our greatest wealth, so I’ve been just a bit stressed out at my lack of activity and access to #cleaneats lately. Now that I actually have some time to focus on myself though, I’ve been going HAM on Kayla Itsine’s Bikini Body Guide. And so far? I. am. loving. it. 28 minute workouts? Hell to the yes, girlfraaand 😍 One of the things that I love about doing programs like this is that they teach me more about fitness and…
As evidenced by this post, I’ve been on a mission to get fit recently. A few weeks ago, I even bought and started using the Kayla Itsine’s Bikini Body Guide as my go-to for daily workouts, and my next step will be to shape up and refine my diet to be even cleaner. I’m looking forward to getting on the right track and sharing more healthy lifestyle tips and behind the scenes progress on this platform. It’s a topic I wrote about a lot more when I first started blogging, so I’m passionate about getting back to these roots, especially since I’ve noticed that health and wellness are topics that a lot of people seem to be interested in and enjoy talking about. To start it all off though, I want to tackle a term that I think we’ve all heard, and probably used ourselves (many times). Cheat meals. There’s…
I won’t lie, I’ve been on a bit of a sugary/greasy food bender for the past few (!) weeks.
[Hence why I told ya’ll about my plans to join a gym stat, here.]
Since finals week, my girlfriends and I have been livin’ it up on Wendy’s frostys & fries, cheese balls, coconut cake, + basically any other nasty-ass food you can think of.
It’s gross. I KNOW.
I never put on the freshman fifteen, so maybe it’ll just be the senior 15 instead, all compounded in the two weeks prior to graduation, haha! #cantescapeit
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I’m not a big fan of breakfast. There’s just something about it that rubs me the wrong way.
It also probably doesn’t help that I really hate eggs.
That being said though, I do love my antioxidant-rich pomegranate avocado toast and the occasional batch of banana pancakes. I recently whipped up a few fluffy, vegan (minus the honey I drizzled on top) ‘cakes, and they were so good that I knew I just HAD to share with you guys.
Oh, and I topped them with my favorite 3-ingredient raspberry chia jam. So yes, I’m definitely a breakfast eater when I make these babies.
2017 is bringing big changes to The Blonde Chiffon, mainly in the form of several new series. I’m a huge fan of them (obviously), and that’s mostly because I feel that they can make a brand more consistent and cohesive.
My goal in creating a few new series on TBC this year is that they will help you see that all of the content is interrelated, connecting back to one simple idea: bettering yourself and your self-image through a fashion and beauty-focused lens. There’s way too many girls that struggle to keep up with the latest trends, which can often take a toll on their budget, time, bodies, self-confidence, etc.
