Weekend Bites: My Favorite Hydrating “Piña Colada” Smoothie

I won’t lie, I’ve been on a bit of a sugary/greasy food bender for the past few (!) weeks.

[Hence why I told ya’ll about my plans to join a gym stat, here.]

Since finals week, my girlfriends and I have been livin’ it up on Wendy’s frostys & fries, cheese balls, coconut cake, + basically any other nasty-ass food you can think of.

It’s gross. I KNOW.

I never put on the freshman fifteen, so maybe it’ll just be the senior 15 instead, all compounded in the two weeks prior to graduation, haha! #cantescapeit

The Best 3 Ingredient, Skinny Peppermint Hot Chocolate

The holiday season isn’t over quite yet, but I’m already starting to look towards 2017 and my New Year’s goals. I feel like dieting and getting in shape is completely overdone. It’s just boring, you know? I’m all for getting healthy, but 80 percent of these NY’s resolutions are abandoned by just February.

Done. Over it. Bye.

Instead, I’m jumping on the mindfulness boat. We can all be a bit more conscious and aware, especially when it comes to our health. No fad diets or workout programs for this chica. My resolution is as simple as being aware of what I’m putting into my body and the energy that I’m exerting each day while also practicing conscious decision making. I’m notorious for making unhealthy snap decisions, just so that I can get that instant gratification. That’s what I’m trying to improve in the new year.

The Best Nighttime Drink for a Good Night’s Sleep

As the weather starts to cool down, I’ve found that it gets increasingly difficult to get out of bed in the morning. After all, who wants to leave their warm fuzzy blankets on a brisk AF fall morning, let alone a gosh darn blizzard when winter hits in NY? No one. Not to mention, my nighttime habits can be pretty reckless. I’m the queen of staying up late to squeeze in one more episode of Vampire Diaries (those cliffhangers are pure torture), and I’m constantly checking my phone before I doze off just in case I’ve missed anything on social. It’s awful. So, after a literal lifetime of feeling like I never get enough (quality) sleep, I’m finally trying to nail down a nighttime routine. Though I’m not quite ready to sacrifice my late-night Netflix binges, I’ve implemented one easy step into my evening agenda. That one little thing is… Turmeric…

Healthy and Delicious Orange Mint Spritzer

All opinions are mine alone. #HowDoYouEmergenC #CollectiveBias As much as I hate to admit it, I’ve been super bored of drinking plain water lately. I’m obsessed with getting in my 64 oz. a day, especially as it’s starting to get colder out, but sometimes it’s just a chore. This feeling ebbs and flows over time, but I generally combat it by drinking a combination of seltzer and fruit infused water, instead of succumbing to sugary sodas and juices.  Recently, after a trip to Walgreens, I’ve taken it up a notch and added in Emergen-C to create the ultimate healthy fruit infused spritzer. With just six ingredients, it’s easy to recreate time and time again when you need a little pick-me-up.  INGREDIENTS: Water Emergen-C Mint Orange slices Raspberries Ginger What I love about this beverage is that it’s totally…

The Skinny Pumpkin Frappe Recipe That Won’t Ruin Your #Healthkick

If you guys saw this post from last week, you’re well aware that pumpkin spiced latte season is upon us. Though a #psl is often my drink of choice this time of the year, I recently had a killer frozen pumpkin chai while I was home a few weeks ago that absolutely rocked my world. Basically anything that includes pumpkin & caffeine is a go, right?   As much as I love all of the fall drinks that are available in stores right now, I’m doing my best to get back on track with eating healthy and working out. You guys saw my food diary from last week, right? It was ridiculous! So, this is where my new favorite at-home, skinny girl drink comes in. It’s got all of the deliciousness of fall coffee beverages, minus all the not-so-clean-eating ingredients.   INGREDIENTS There’s a few more ingredients in this recipe than I’d…

Easy DIY: Five Minute Marble Coffee Mugs

I received compensation and complimentary products to facilitate my review. #StarbucksCaffeLatte #MyStarbucksatHome #CollectiveBias If you guys saw this Instagram post, you know that I’ve been drowning a bit lately. I feel like we’re on that level where I can be honest with you and not live totally behind the facade of picture perfect blogger social media (because nobody’s lives are that pretty). Balancing 18 credits and lots of bloggy business can be #astruggle. Usually when it comes down to blogging or school work, the blog wins — haha! But really, writing TBC is insanely therapeutic and keeps me sane, so it’s justifiable…right? Anyways, in light of the recent craziness, I wanted to share with you guys a super easy DIY. It’s absolutely perfect…

Best Summer Drink Recipe: Strawberry Coconut Water Lemonade

Though I’ve gotten much better at getting in my daily 64 oz. of water, there are times when cravings for sweet and playful beverages hit me like a ton of bricks. For one, I love lemonade. Always have, always will. It’s the first thing I look forward to at any festival or carnival I hit up, and I don’t allow myself to feel guilty for these sugary indulgences since they are so few and far between. Festival lemonade also gleefully reminds me of being a kid again, so sipping on it every once in awhile is a tradition that I’m all too happy to keep going, no matter how many delightful grams of sugar are involved. That being said, I also like to have DOTW (drinks other than water, ha!) on hand regularly…they just aren’t as sugary and disruptive as carnival lemonade. Unsweetened iced tea and seltzer water are usually…
