Fall Dessert Recipes || The Healthy Pumpkin Milkshake of Your Dreams

I’ll admit, I love pumpkin pie as much as the next girl. And nothing speaks to the fall season better than a Starbuck’s pumpkin spiced latte.

Though I have my fair share of this classic fall beverage each year, I can’t help but fixate on the fact that these lattes are so heavily loaded with sugar!

You can definitely get the calories down by micromanaging your barista, but I’ve been experimenting in the kitchen to craft my own delicious fall frapp.

Fall dessert recipes are some of my most loved, but this take inspired by the classic PSL just so happens to be one of my favorite healthy fall recipes as well.

After all, a half cup of canned pumpkin is a mere 40 calories, and delivers 3 grams of fiber, according to the Huffington Post.

Meaning, this delicious low calorie fruit can keep us full for hours! Pumpkins are also rich in antioxidants, which can help reduce stress and acne, writes Amber Scriven of MindBodyGreen.

I’ve had major issues with my skin in the past, so eating healthy has become a priority for more than just my waistline.

In lieu of the abundant sugary pumpkin treats available this fall, I encourage you to try substituting a slice of pie (side of vanilla ice cream, please) for a skinny pumpkin milkshake.

Not only is this chilly refreshment a delicious skinny alternative, but it’s the perfect excuse to get cozy by a crackling fire.
