Christmas is here, and the holiday sweaters are out. Did you guys catch this sequined reindeer look last week? Yeah, I'm in love. Honestly though, I think I like this sparkly red sweater (another T.J. Maxx find) even better. And don't get me started on my latest phone case. No, it's not X-mas themed. However, it's sassy enough that it doesn't have to be. It's that amazing.
And yes, everything (phone case aside) does have to be holiday-inspired in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Because, why not?
Anyways, I've been running around like a mad woman trying to get all of my holiday shopping done since I got back for break. If you're in a similar boat and still need some last-minute motivation, check out these gift guides here, here & here.
In the meantime, I'll leave you with a killer, non-boring holiday playlist that I think you'll love. I've been listening to it nonstop trying to get into the holiday spirit, and I like that the songs actually make me want to get up and move around!
Also, in case you guys are wondering about this outfit, I'll leave details below so you can snag it too. I'm all about the red/black contrast (as seen here, too), which adds some drama to any holiday look.
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
And tell me, what's your favorite holiday anthem? I want to add a few more songs to the playlist!
With the athleisure trend in full swing, I'm really vibing on casual pieces lately. I finally invested in a pair of Adidas sneakers a few months ago, which have really stepped up my game. And I don't even care that everybody and their mother has a pair at this point, because they're SO. DAMN. COMFORTABLE.
Seriously, just try 'em on. This pair is loaded with memory foam, so it's legit like you're walking on a cloud. I straight wear them at least a few days per week, simply because they're so comfy and go with pretty much anything.
Earlier this week, I shared with ya'll some of my thoughts on graduating. It's honestly a bit of a weird time, and overall it's bittersweet. But want to know what I absolutely, hands down HATE?
Having to move my entire life out of my apartment and back home.
This is coming from someone who hauled a literal trailer to campus with all of her stuff in it at the beginning of last year. There was that much.
So yeah. Moving out is a sick freaking joke at this point.
So, perhaps you've read this post, where I told ya'll about the little hurricane warning we had in NY last week...
Sounds like fun, huh?
We're obviously *quite* ready for summer over here in the East Coast, so I just couldn't resist putting together a little warm weather roundup to get in the spirit. I'm loving all the pom poms and tropical prints this season, despite the fact that I'm trying to keep away from such bright pieces (I wear 'em once and get bored). I can't wait to just lay out in the sun all weekend though — with SPF like 1 million on of course, b/c I'm a psycho bitch about preventing wrinkles.
Unfortunately, it's still sweater weather here in NY.
In fact, we had a literal tornado warning on Monday night.
WTF East Coast.
Can you see I'm a bity salty about this 'lil predicament here? I'm a person whose mood is definitely affected by the weather, so the constant grayness outside is quite underhwelming. How's a girl supposed to stay creative (which is essentially us bloggers' bread & butter) when it's downright gloomy out?
You guys know I love me a good deal. After all, I did write a whole post on how to afford designer clothes in college. And ICYMI, that really translates to: how to afford designer clothes when you're broke as sh*t.
Seriously though, I get a good laugh every time I see a fashion blogger advertising a "sale", where her favorite picks are "just *insert absurd price here*. To each her own...but I refuse to drop $50 for a t-shirt (cue "Thrift Shop").
For some reason, I never plan my Easter outfit out too far ahead. I've seen a number of bloggers dressed to the nines in gorgeous floral numbers and other festive frocks for the past few weeks, but I'm more of a last-minute kind of gal. I also don't love some of the stiffer looking pieces — you know the dresses that just look kind of hard to breathe/move around in?
Instead, I'm taking more of a lax approach to my Easter attire this year and opting for my favorite flowy pastel maxi skirt. It's easy to style (#lazygirlapproved), and is absolutely killer if you're looking for something that just screams "Easter weekend".
In this social media age, where FOMO is becoming the complete norm, I often hear college girls envying fashion bloggers and other Insta stars for their seemingly "perfect" lives.
Along with those picture perfect moments are also, typically, killer outfits. After all, isn't this part of what makes us girls jealous of these social media mavens in the first place? Not only do they jet set around the world experiencing the best of each and every city under the sun, but they do it in style.
Maybe I'm just speaking for myself, but lusting after clothes that are WAY out of my budget (which I typically stumble upon through street style blogs or Instagram) is just another day in the life of a broke-a** college girl. Ya know?
Ahh, self care. The oh-so-trendy topic that's simply everywhere on the web right now. It sounds very Gwenyth Paltrow if you ask me, but I love that #treatingyoself is actually becoming a legitimate practice.
I mean, if you're not taking care of yourself, what ARE you doing?
Am I right?
I do think that there's this huge misconception though that self care needs to be some elaborate, expensive, time consuming, etc. process. In reality, self care is a gold mine for us boss ladies.
If you've had the chance to peruse my ever-growing library of fashion content, you may have noticed that I'm not typically one for flashy jewelry. I love a statement necklace just as much as the next girl, don't get me wrong. However, I have a few staple pieces that hold a lot of meaning to me and that I wear almost every day.
Try to spot them in the next outfit post I publish ;)
Anyways, I thought it'd be fun to give you guys a rundown of the pieces that you've probably already seen on me and will continue to see for a long time to come:
Thank the freakin' Lord, spring is finally in the air. Winter has been treacherous around these parts, but it was (almost) all worth it when I got to pull out my favorite polka dotted number this past weekend. I'm already feeling a major purging of my winter closet coming on, and I absolutely can't wait to break out more of my spring pieces.
In the spirit of the warmer weather, I want to share with you guys five trends I am loving this season in hopes of helping you perfect your spring wardrobe fast. I swear, just grab the below essentials, and you'll be up to speed in no time.
