So I had something else in store for Motivational Monday this week, but when I saw this quote I just couldn't resist sharing.
My whole life I have been obsessed with starting my own business or, at the very least, doing my own thing. Let's just say lemonade/freeze-pop stands & bracelet making businesses were my shit. I was always trying (and failing) to come up with the new big idea. I also wanted to be the boss. I was definitely that kid that acted all shy at first but then wanted to run the show as soon as the parents left. HA.
Not to mention I was (and still am) stubborn. My way or the highway. #sorrynotsorry. And it's funny, because I still played by the rules...I just wanted everyone else to too. Either way though, I'm kinda all about riding my own wave/marching to the beat of my own drum, if ya know what I mean.
And do any of you guys watch Shark Tank? Because I'm SO hooked. I seriously could watch episodes all day and still not be bored of listening to entrepreneurs pitch their small businesses to tycoon investors. It's so much fun to see what people come up with and to hear the straight up, no B.S. advice/commentary from the sharks.
So of course I LOVE this quote from Indian business tycoon Dhirubhai Ambani. I mean it doesn't get more real, does it? Either we build our own dream or someone else hires us to help them build theirs. Those are pretty much the two walks in life when it comes to career building..unless you've got some insane trust fund that you can live off indefinitely (lucky you). Buuuuut, I'd be SO bored if I didn't have something to work on anyways.
Now I'm not bashing corporate careers and all that good stuff, cause who knows where I'll end up after college. But one thing is for sure: it's so worth it to be mentally and emotionally invested in your job. After all, they do say to do the job you love and you'll never work a day in your life, right?
What do you think? Are you a serial entrepreneur too? Spill in the comments below!!
