How to Never Run Out of Blog Post Ideas Again

If there’s one thing that I think almost all bloggers fear above all, it’s running out of ideas. I mean, let’s be honest…writer’s block is a huge pain in the a$$ — especially if you’re relying on your blog as a source of income.

I wrote about how comparison has stifled my creativity in the past here, but there’s a few other tips that I didn’t note in that post that have helped me to grow as a writer and blogger immensely.

In fact, I almost never question what I’m going to write about nowadays.

That’s coming from a girl who used to stare at her computer for hours trying to come up with the “perfect” post idea.

How to Create the Perfect Glittery Eye for the Holidays

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #MyPureRelief #CollectiveBias It’s hard to believe, but the holidays are right around the corner. This is of course exciting for me, because it means a (debatably) much-deserved break from school and lots of time to work on the things that I love most (i.e. blogging). I’m also looking forward to the many holiday parties that characterize the season and help make it memorable. After all, good food plus good company equals a darn good time. Right?  Right. That being said, I’m really looking to step up my makeup game this season. I recently invested in some new eyeshadow palettes, and I can’t wait to finally have an excuse to use some of my favorite (most glittery) shades. I experimented with a sparkly eye look earlier this week, and it’s definitely worth redoing during the…

5 Things I Wish I Knew Before Monetizing My Blog

PC After reflecting on 2015 and coming up with my 2016 blog & biz resolutions, I started to realize how truly far I’ve come in just a short year. And one of the things I’m most proud of is the fact that I’ve been able to monetize my blog and turn it into a profitable business. Who knew that what I’d started simply as a hobby and creative outlet could become a kicka$$ side hustle? I sure didn’t! Nonetheless, turning my blog into a biz wasn’t an easy feat, and I’m really just getting started. Though I love every second of research I do for this blog and making it more profitable, there are definitely a few things I wish I had known in the early days. Like… Pageviews aren’t everything. Though one of my goals for 2016 is to increase my traffic, I think that the pressure to get more…

2016 Blog & Biz Resolutions

When The Blonde Chiffon launched in late 2014, I had NO idea what I was getting myself into. I didn’t know much about blogging at the time, and I regularly spent hours scouring the internet for info on how I could get “better”. I was finally able to (kinda) get my sh*t together for 2015 and make a lot of improvements. Among my favorites were improving my photography and learning to produce content that suits a specific target audience. I also started monetizing, which has completely blown my mind. I’m definitely not making a living off of my blog right now, but I can see that it is entirely possible in the future. So exciting! Overall, I’m thrilled with the progress came with 2015, but I KNOW that I’m going to do everything in my power to make 2016 an even bigger year for growth. I’m leaving my resolutions below, and feel…

How to Create a Unique About Page in Photoshop (Feat. Free About Page Checklist!)

After MONTHS of procrastination, I finally revamped my about page last week. And let me tell you, it was sooooo needed. Ever since I started this blog over year ago, the page has only ever consisted of photo of me and a short bio. Cause that’s totally gonna entice first-time readers to keep exploring my site. Not. I do a lot of reading and exploring of other blogs in my free time, and I’ve definitely noticed a pattern I’ve developed. Almost every time I’m engaged by a blogger/entrepreneur’s about page, I return to the site at least once. Why? Because they’ve got me interested in more than just an article they wrote. Whether it’s their adorable little family, their killer fashion or healthy lifestyle tips, I’ll often keep clicking around and exploring if I see something interesting. So what I’m really saying is, your about page is a place where…

5 Tricks to Dramatically Improve Your Instagram Game

If there’s one social media platform I’m utterly addicted to, it’s Instagram. Hands down. Twitter is a close runner-up but, as they say, almost doesn’t count. I think part of the big infatuation with Instagram comes from its capability to create a seamless and carefully curated idealization of our lives. But more than that, it’s a work of art that’s never really finished. With the value of social media influence skyrocketing indefinitely, there’s no better time to up your Insta game. And even if you’re not looking to go pro (and yes, there’s such a thing), check out these few tippity tips to help you curate a stronger and more cohesive feed: 1. VSCO is (and should be your) Insta life. If there’s just one item you take out of this entire post, let it be the amazing superhero capabilities of VSCO. VSCO is my main resource hub in editing…
