This post has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and AcneFree. All opinions are mine alone. #AcneFreeSummer #CollectiveBias ICYMI, I recently celebrated my 21st birthday. I wanted to keep things pretty low key, but R. and I did take a trip up to Niagara Falls for the weekend for a little wine tour and other miscellaneous birthday shenanigans. I’m still (two weeks later 😂) working on a recap of that trip but, in total transparency, have been slammed with work since I got back. Because I’ve been so crazy busy (Side Note: Why do people ever brag about being busy?? It’s not glamorous??), I’ve been attempting to simplify my beauty routine and cut out products I don’t actually need. This has resulted in my wearing less makeup than ever before, though this isn’t atypical of me during the summertime. After all, who wants to deal with an extensive beauty process when…
Whew! After a whirlwind weekend in New Jersey for the 2017 Vampire Diaries Convention (stay tuned for the VLOG), I’m *finally* back. I’m exhausted AF, if we’re being honest…but I’m back nonetheless. Alive, well, and ready to get back in the hypothetical blogging saddle. Before we tackle zeehighlight of today’s post, can we take a moment of silence and appreciate THIS NEW SITE DESIGN. I finally, emphasize on the finally, switched my site over to WordPress after three years of blogging, haha. I’m so happy with how it turned out, and I will do a post on it if you guys are interested! I was super intimidated to try a new platform after getting so comfortable with my old website provider, but I’m loving the new aesthetic. Ya’ll with me, or what? Anyways, moving forward… Let’s chat about the June Popsugar Must-Have Box. If you guys have been following along,…
It makes some of my best girlfriends laugh, but I am darn meticulous when it comes to my skincare routine. There are certain products and rituals that I swear by, and I won’t go without them. I was even known to pack a facemask (or two) for overnight stays in hotels when I was on the equestrian team in college! #HighMaintenance, haha. Though I’ve always been focused on perfecting my skin, I’ve been thinking more about anti-aging practices in particular lately. This is what really gets my girlfriends going, since I’m only 20 and am already worried about getting wrinkles! It might sound a bit wild when put that way, but I really do believe that the secret to good skin years down the road is taking care of it now. I’ve done a lot of research on anti-aging products, but I’ve unfortunately found that many of them can simply…
We all love a good (sunless) tan, am I right?
However, everyone also knows that one girl who straight looks like an Oompa Loompa each time she hits the tanning salon. To each their own, but I’d choose a natural, sunkissed look over a cheeto spray any day. I’m also all about tanning at home. Because who really has the time to keep up with a spray tan nowadays?
And can we just touch upon how freaking expensive spray tans are, too? Tanning beds are OUT (buh bye harmful UV rays & skin cancer scares), so it’s easy for salons to jack up the price of spray tans. It sucks, since this is the safer option, and the pricing difference might encourage some people to just take the risk and opt for a tanning bed.
[In case you’re wondering, the tanning salon near my house has spray tan memberships priced at 4x the cost of a tanning bed membership.]
Ya’ll know I’m obsessed with all things beauty related, or at least it’s pretty obvious if you spend just a bit of time on my site. However, skincare is definitely my favorite niche topic within the beauty realm.
So guys, let’s talk about something v. important today.
Specifically, I want to chat about how to wash your face with my absolute FAVORITE face cleaner, which just so happens to be a cleanser and a makeup remover all in one. And boy do I love all-in-one products.
Let’s dive into one of my favorite topics, shall we?
I’ll admit I’m a tad obsessed, and it’s not uncommon to find me romping around the house with the latest mud mask or blackhead strip plastered to my face. Trying products is genuine fun in my book (and believe me, I’ve tried a lot)!
Today though, I want to hone in on a sector of the skincare market near and dear to my heart, and that is…affordable skincare products. We’ve all had that devastating moment in Sephora where we lock eyes with a small jar of some fancy looking skincare item, just knowing in our hearts how transformational it must be for our skin.
Despite the fact that New York is currently awaiting a massive snow storm right now (*sigh*), spring is right around the corner.
Aside from doing a deep clean of my closet and going on a major clothing haul to prep for the next few months of fashion posts, I also try I try to reevaluate my beauty/skincare routine each season. Spring is one of my favorite times, because it brings lots of beautiful colors and delicious new scents.
However, it can be a tricky transition going from the dry winter weather to luscious spring in the blink of an eye. Of course, this is always how it seems to happen in New York. Luckily though, I’ve established a few rules of thumb (totally through trial and error) that’ll help even the most troubled skin transition seamlessly into the upcoming season…
