If you follow along on Insta and/or Snap, you may have picked up on the fact that I’m a complete natural beauty aficionado. I enjoy making my own products from time to time, but I equally love finding go-to, natural products that I can grab at the store on the go. Life gets crazy! That being said, I’m a firm believer that health is always our greatest wealth, and including more natural products in my home is something that helps relieve some of my anxiety revolving around health and wellness. Protecting our planet is also important to me (not to mention that April is Earth Month!), which is another reason that I like to buy natural products when I can.

Today I want to share with you some of my favorite, painless tips on going green in your household and how you can easily incorporate more natural products into your regimen:

1. EMBRACE CHANGE

We all have those products that we’ve been purchasing mindlessly for ages, yet we know that they’re not exactly great for the environment (or our bodies!). So, the first step to going green in your home is recognizing that you’ll need to change your habits! It may feel a bit uncomfortable at first switching from brands that you’ve been using forever, but you’ll ultimately feel better about it in the long run once you transition to using natural products.

2. RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH

Going green is hard to do when you don’t even know where to start. Do your research on the best natural brands on the market, and make sure to look at the ingredient lists of products before you buy them. Being more knowledgable and intentional about your purchases is a great place to start when it comes to finding ways to utilize more natural brands.

3. DO IT YOURSELF

Like I said, I’m big on DIY beauty. There’s also so many household products you can make yourself, too, and there’s plenty of easy to follow natural recipes online. Check out Pinterest for some DIY inspiration and to get a sense of what products you might want to trying concocting on your own.

4. PLAN AHEAD & PURCHASE NATURAL

Regardless of if you like DIY projects or not, there’s always going to be some products that you’re better off purchasing in-store. Once you’ve done your research on natural brands at home, make sure you go to the store prepared with a list of the natural brands you need to pick up. This will keep you on track and help you avoid any mindless purchases!

And if you’re still clueless as to where you should start? Try switching out something as simple as toothpaste. I recently picked up the Tom’s of Maine® Luminous White™ Toothpaste Clean Mint at Walmart and am loving it. Luminous White™ is Tom’s of Maine’s® most advanced whitening toothpaste ever, but it still doesn’t contain any artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. Ya’ll know how important this is to me. The product is also made up of biodegradable or mineral-derived ingredients, which I also love.  P.S., earn $.75 with your purchase of Tom’s of Maine® Luminous White™ toothpaste here!

So, do you incorporate any natural products in your home? Any struggles? Let me know in the comments!
